This Agreement is entered into by WhatsGoodApps LLC (“WhatsGoodApps,” “We,” “Us,” or “Our”), the developer and provider of the Mahjong Practice mobile application (the “App,” “Service,” or “Services”), and the person who accesses or uses the Services (“You” or “Your”). This Agreement governs Your access to and use of the Services.
This Agreement becomes effective when You are presented with it and access or use the Services. If You do not agree to this Agreement, do not access or use the Services.
We may update this Agreement from time to time. Updated terms may be posted within the App, on Our website, or otherwise presented to You. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Your continued use of the Services after updated terms become effective constitutes Your acceptance of those updated terms.
Description of the Services
Mahjong Practice is an educational and entertainment application that may provide simulated Mahjong practice games against computer-controlled opponents, quizzes, questions, explanations, automated coaching or hints, daily challenges, streaks, rankings, progress tracking, performance statistics, adjustable opponent difficulty, adjustable game pace, and related features.
The App may offer practice content for rulesets including American Mahjong, Japanese Riichi, Hong Kong Old Style, and Chinese Official / Mahjong Competition Rules (“MCR”). We may add, remove, rename, revise, or discontinue rulesets, game modes, quizzes, features, settings, questions, answers, explanations, coaching tools, and other App content at any time.
Age Requirements
By accessing or using the Services, You represent and warrant that You are at least 18 years old and have reached the minimum age of digital consent in Your country. The Services are intended only for adults. You may not access or use the Services if You are under 18 years old.
If You are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a minor has accessed or used the Services, please contact Us so that We may take appropriate action.
Privacy and Local Data
No user account is required to use the App. Except where expressly stated otherwise, game history, quiz results, ranking information, progress records, streaks, statistics, settings, and related App data are stored locally on Your device. Please review Our Privacy Policy for additional information about data handling.
Locally stored data may be permanently lost if You delete the App, clear the App’s storage, replace or reset Your device, lose access to Your device, experience device corruption, or encounter a technical problem. We do not guarantee permanent storage, backup, synchronization, transfer, restoration, availability, or recoverability of locally stored data.
Because no account is required and App data is generally stored locally, rankings, progress, streaks, statistics, settings, and history may not transfer to another device and may not be recoverable after deletion or loss. You are responsible for maintaining Your device and any device-level backups that may be available to You.
Limited License
Subject to Your compliance with this Agreement, WhatsGoodApps grants You a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to install and use the App on devices that You own or control, solely for Your personal, non-commercial educational and entertainment use and subject to applicable app-store terms.
The App is licensed, not sold. Except for the limited license expressly granted above, no right, title, or interest in the App or Services is transferred to You.
App Content and Intellectual Property
The App, software, designs, interfaces, graphics, tile artwork, sounds, text, quizzes, questions, answer choices, explanations, coaching content, hints, practice cards, scoring methods, ranking methods, computer-player behavior, algorithms, game logic, databases, compilations, and all other App content and materials are owned by WhatsGoodApps or Our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property and other laws.
American Mahjong practice cards and related practice materials provided by the App are original App content. Unless We expressly state otherwise, the App is not affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by, or endorsed by any Mahjong league, association, tournament operator, card publisher, rules authority, standards organization, or other third party.
You may not reproduce, republish, scrape, extract, download in bulk, distribute, sell, license, sublicense, publicly display, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit any App content except as expressly permitted by Us in writing.
Educational and Entertainment Purposes
The Services are provided for educational, practice, and entertainment purposes only. The App does not guarantee that You will improve Your Mahjong skills, achieve any particular score or ranking, win any game, or perform successfully in live, social, club, tournament, or other competitive play.
You are solely responsible for deciding whether and how to rely on anything presented by the App. The App is not a substitute for reviewing the official or agreed rules applicable to a particular game, club, league, tournament, table, or event.
Ruleset, Scoring, and Gameplay Variations
Mahjong rules, scoring systems, terminology, accepted hands, penalties, procedures, customs, and interpretations may vary among regions, clubs, organizations, tournaments, publications, and individual tables. The App uses its own implementation and interpretation of each supported ruleset.
The App may contain errors, omissions, disputed interpretations, simplified rules, or differences from rules used elsewhere. We may correct or revise scoring, rules, explanations, quiz answers, computer-player behavior, accepted hands, ranking methods, or other gameplay elements at any time. An update may cause results produced before and after the update to differ.
Computer-Controlled Opponents, Difficulty, and Pace
Practice games are played against computer-controlled opponents. Difficulty settings may include Relaxed, Standard, and Expert. These labels are relative settings used within the App and do not represent an official Mahjong rating, certification, or standardized skill level.
Computer-controlled opponents may make predictable, unusual, inconsistent, suboptimal, unrealistic, or incorrect decisions. Their behavior, speed, strength, strategy, and difficulty may change through updates. We do not guarantee that any opponent will perform like a particular human player or at any specific level of skill.
Game-pace settings affect the presentation or timing of simulated gameplay but do not guarantee that a game will last for any particular amount of time.
AI Coach, Hints, and Automated Assistance
The App may provide an automated coach, hints, discard suggestions, strategic observations, answers, explanations, or other assistance. Some or all coaching functions may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, algorithms, or a third-party AI service provider. We may change or replace the technology or provider used to deliver these features.
To provide coaching or assistance, the App may transmit relevant game state, settings, questions, text entered by You, or other necessary information to an AI service provider, as described more fully in Our Privacy Policy.
Coaching content and hints may be incomplete, inaccurate, inconsistent, delayed, unavailable, strategically debatable, or unsuitable for a particular rules interpretation or style of play. The coach does not guarantee the best possible move, a winning result, or improvement in Your play. You remain responsible for evaluating and deciding whether to follow any hint or recommendation.
Coaching and hints may be made available to both free and paid users without an ordinary fixed numerical cap. Any feature described or presented as unlimited remains subject to the practical limits described in this Agreement.
Quizzes and Educational Materials
Quizzes may address rules, scoring, hand recognition, strategy, terminology, gameplay situations, or other Mahjong topics. Questions, answers, explanations, and scoring may contain errors or may reflect one interpretation among multiple accepted interpretations. Quiz performance is for practice purposes and is not an official examination, license, credential, certification, or proof of Mahjong expertise.
We may revise, replace, remove, or correct quiz questions, answers, explanations, results, scores, and related content at any time.
Rankings, Progress, Statistics, and Streaks
The paid tier may provide one overall in-App ranking based on Your performance in practice games against computer-controlled opponents. The ranking may use methods and factors selected by Us, which may include game results, ruleset, opponent difficulty, gameplay performance, and other factors.
Rankings are internal App measurements only. They are not official Mahjong ratings, tournament rankings, professional credentials, certifications, or reliable comparisons to real-world players. Ranking calculations may contain errors or produce unexpected results.
Progress tracking, ranking information, streaks, performance statistics, and similar records may be recalculated, corrected, adjusted, suspended, hidden, or reset when reasonably necessary because of bugs, data corruption, feature changes, ranking-method changes, suspected manipulation, technical limitations, or other operational reasons.
Ranking, progress tracking, and streak features are available only while a paid subscription is active. If a paid subscription expires or is cancelled at the end of its paid period, existing ranking, progress, and streak data may remain stored locally but will be hidden and unavailable through the App while the subscription is inactive. If You later resubscribe on the same device, the data may become visible again only if it remains available and has not been deleted, reset, corrupted, or lost.
Rankings, progress records, scores, streaks, statistics, quiz results, and achievements have no cash value, are not transferable, and are not redeemable for money, property, prizes, or any other benefit outside the App.
Free Tier
The free tier is intended to provide one quiz and one practice game total for the lifetime of the free-tier access. These are one-time total allowances, not daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, per-ruleset, per-device, or per-install allowances. Reinstalling the App, clearing data, changing devices, or otherwise attempting to reset the App does not create a new free entitlement.
A free user may select any available supported ruleset for the one free quiz and any available supported ruleset for the one free practice game. Once the applicable one-time allowance has been used, additional access to that activity requires an active paid subscription unless We expressly provide another promotional or complimentary allowance.
Free-tier eligibility and remaining allowances may be determined through locally available records and other technical information available to the App. We do not guarantee that a free allowance can be recovered or restored after App deletion, device replacement, data loss, or a technical issue.
Paid Tier and Subscriptions
The App may offer a paid tier through monthly and yearly auto-renewable subscription options. While the paid subscription is active, the paid tier provides access to unlimited practice games, unlimited quizzes, ranking, progress tracking, streaks, and any other paid features identified at the time of purchase, subject to this Agreement and the practical limits described below.
Specific prices, subscription periods, introductory offers, included features, renewal terms, and other purchase information are presented through the applicable app store at the time of purchase. Prices and features may vary by region, platform, subscription period, and promotional offer and may change as permitted by applicable law and app-store rules.
Subscriptions are currently offered through Apple in-app purchase. We may add distribution through Google Play in the future. Purchases, renewals, billing, cancellations, and refunds are processed and governed by the terms and policies of the platform through which the subscription was purchased.
A subscription automatically renews for another period of the same duration unless You cancel it through the applicable app-store account settings before renewal, subject to the terms shown at purchase. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
Cancellation ordinarily prevents a future renewal but does not end paid access before the conclusion of the then-current paid subscription period, except where the applicable platform or law provides otherwise. When paid access ends, the App reverts to the then-current free tier, including any remaining free-tier access, if any, and paid-only features become unavailable.
Meaning of “Unlimited” and Practical Limits
For any feature described as “unlimited,” including unlimited practice games, quizzes, or coaching assistance, “unlimited” means that no ordinary fixed numerical cap is applied to reasonable, personal, good-faith use during the period in which the feature is available.
“Unlimited” does not mean infinite, unrestricted, automated, simultaneous, abusive, fraudulent, unlawful, technically impossible, commercially exploited, or commercially unreasonable use. Unlimited access remains subject to reasonable practical, technical, operational, device, network, processing, availability, maintenance, security, fair-use, anti-fraud, anti-automation, and anti-abuse limitations.
We may temporarily delay, throttle, restrict, suspend, or refuse access to a feature where activity is automated, excessive, abnormal, abusive, fraudulent, disruptive, technically impractical, inconsistent with ordinary individual use, used for commercial extraction, or likely to impair the Services or their availability to others. These practical limitations are intended to prevent abuse and maintain reliable operation and are not intended to impose an ordinary fixed cap on legitimate personal use.
No Gambling, Wagering, or Prizes
Mahjong Practice provides simulated games for education, practice, and entertainment only. The App does not accept, process, facilitate, or arrange wagers, bets, stakes, entry fees, gambling transactions, cash prizes, cash-equivalent prizes, or prize-based competitions.
In-App scores, rankings, achievements, streaks, statistics, and progress have no monetary value and may not be bought, sold, transferred, wagered, or redeemed.
User Inputs and Feedback
If the App permits You to enter questions, text, feedback, or other information (“User Inputs”), You represent that You have the right to provide those User Inputs and that they do not violate applicable law or any third-party rights.
You grant WhatsGoodApps and Our service providers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, transmit, process, reproduce, and analyze User Inputs solely as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, support, and improve the Services, subject to Our Privacy Policy.
If You voluntarily provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Services, You grant Us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to You.
Prohibited Uses
You may not:
Use the Services in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
Use bots, scripts, macros, emulators, modified software, automation, or other artificial means to play games, complete quizzes, obtain coaching, generate activity, or interact with the Services;
Cheat, manipulate, falsify, alter, or improperly influence game results, quiz results, scores, rankings, progress, statistics, streaks, subscription status, or free-tier allowances;
Exploit bugs, vulnerabilities, unintended behavior, or technical limitations, or fail to report a material exploit after discovering it;
Attempt to reset, evade, or circumvent the one-time free-tier allowances, subscription requirements, practical limits, access controls, security measures, or other restrictions;
Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decode, or attempt to discover the source code, algorithms, ranking methods, coaching logic, computer-player logic, quiz database, or underlying technology of the Services, except where applicable law expressly permits such activity;
Scrape, harvest, extract, reproduce, copy, republish, or compile quizzes, answers, explanations, practice cards, coaching content, tile artwork, game data, or other App content;
Use the Services or App content to train, test, benchmark, develop, or improve a competing product or service without Our written permission;
Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, transfer, or commercially exploit the App, paid access, App content, or any portion of the Services;
Use the Services to facilitate gambling, wagering, betting, prize-based play, or other unlawful activity;
Introduce malware, harmful code, or other material intended to disrupt or damage the Services or any device, server, system, or network;
Interfere with, overload, disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the Services or systems connected to the Services;
Impersonate another person or misrepresent Your identity, authority, affiliation, or relationship with any person or organization;
Use the Services to harass, threaten, abuse, defraud, or harm any person; or
Attempt, encourage, assist, or enable any other person to do any of the foregoing.
Third-Party Services and Platforms
The Services may rely on third parties, including Apple, future app-distribution platforms, AI service providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, and other technical service providers. Third-party services may be unavailable, interrupted, changed, discontinued, or governed by separate terms and privacy policies.
Your use of the App must comply with applicable third-party terms, including the terms of the platform from which You obtained the App or purchased a subscription. WhatsGoodApps is not responsible for third-party services, systems, content, acts, omissions, availability, security, or policies.
This Agreement is between You and WhatsGoodApps, not Apple. To the extent applicable, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement and may enforce this Agreement against You. WhatsGoodApps, not Apple, is responsible for the App, its maintenance and support, and claims relating to the App, subject to this Agreement and applicable law.
Service Availability, Updates, and Changes
We do not guarantee that the Services or any feature will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every device or operating-system version, or available at all times. Maintenance, technical issues, provider outages, network conditions, updates, device limitations, and events outside Our control may affect availability or performance.
We may update, modify, correct, improve, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Services, including rulesets, computer-player behavior, coaching, quizzes, rankings, progress tracking, streaks, difficulty settings, pace settings, subscription features, and free-tier allowances, subject to applicable law and app-store rules.
Updates may be required for continued use of the App. We do not guarantee support for older versions of the App or operating system.
Suspension and Termination
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate Your access to all or part of the Services if We reasonably believe that You have violated this Agreement, manipulated rankings or entitlements, used automation, engaged in fraud or abuse, created a security or operational risk, infringed Our or another person’s rights, or used the Services unlawfully.
You may stop using the Services at any time. Stopping use or deleting the App does not automatically cancel an active subscription. You must cancel through the platform through which You purchased it.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and accrued rights and obligations.
Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND SYSTEM INTEGRATION.
We do not warrant that the App, computer players, rules, scoring, quizzes, answers, explanations, coaching, hints, rankings, progress calculations, streaks, statistics, or other content will be accurate, complete, current, reliable, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for Your intended purpose.
We do not warrant that the Services will improve Your skill, produce a particular result, or match the rules, scoring, standards, interpretations, or gameplay used by any third party. You assume all risks arising from Your use of the Services.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WhatsGoodApps and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, use, opportunity, data, progress, ranking, statistics, streaks, game history, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to:
Your access to, use of, inability to use, or reliance on the Services;
Any incorrect, incomplete, disputed, outdated, or inconsistent rule, score, quiz answer, explanation, hint, recommendation, game result, computer-player action, ranking, progress calculation, statistic, or other content;
Any failure to achieve a desired learning, improvement, gameplay, ranking, competitive, or entertainment result;
Any difference between the App and rules or practices used by a club, league, organization, tournament, publication, or individual table;
Any interruption, outage, delay, device problem, provider failure, software error, data corruption, or loss or reset of locally stored information;
Any suspension, restriction, recalculation, correction, hiding, or reset of rankings, progress, streaks, scores, statistics, features, or access;
Your use of or interaction with any third-party service or platform; or
Unauthorized access to or alteration of Your device or locally stored data.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF WHATSGOODAPPS AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THIS AGREEMENT WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICES DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions and limitations above apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WhatsGoodApps and its affiliates, shareholders, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and representatives from and against claims, damages, judgments, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or relating to:
Your access to or use or misuse of the Services;
Your User Inputs;
Your violation of this Agreement or applicable law;
Your infringement or violation of any third-party right; or
Your fraud, manipulation, automation, abuse, or unauthorized activity.
Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
ALL LEGAL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT OR THE SERVICES, INCLUDING ANY DISPUTE REGARDING THE INTERPRETATION, VALIDITY, ENFORCEABILITY, OR PERFORMANCE OF THIS AGREEMENT (A “DISPUTE”), WILL BE GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, USA, EXCLUDING NEW YORK’S CONFLICT-OF-LAWS RULES, EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT THAT APPLICABLE LAW REQUIRES OTHERWISE.
The parties will first attempt in good faith to resolve a Dispute informally for thirty (30) days after written notice of the Dispute is provided. If the Dispute is not resolved within that period, it will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules and Mediation Procedures in effect when the arbitration is filed, together with any applicable Consumer Due Process Protocol or supplementary rules.
The parties will mutually select one arbitrator. If they do not agree, the arbitrator will be appointed in accordance with the applicable AAA rules. The arbitration will be conducted in English in New York County, New York, USA, unless the applicable AAA rules, the arbitrator, or applicable law requires or permits a different location, remote proceeding, documents-only proceeding, or other procedure.
Either party may apply to a court of competent jurisdiction for temporary or preliminary injunctive relief necessary to protect its rights pending completion of arbitration. The arbitrator may award any relief available under applicable law that is consistent with the limitations in this Agreement.
The arbitration award will be final and binding and may be entered and enforced in any court of competent jurisdiction. Arbitration fees and costs will be allocated in accordance with the applicable AAA rules and applicable law. Each party will otherwise bear its own attorneys’ and experts’ fees unless the arbitrator or applicable law provides otherwise.
Force Majeure
Neither party will be liable for failure or delay in performance to the extent caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, epidemics, pandemics, government actions, internet or telecommunications failures, power failures, app-store outages, third-party provider failures, or cyberattacks.
Waiver and Severability
If We do not enforce a provision of this Agreement immediately, that does not waive Our right to enforce it later. If any provision is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer this Agreement or any rights under it without Our prior written consent. We may assign this Agreement in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or by operation of law.
Entire Agreement
This Agreement, together with the Privacy Policy and any purchase terms presented through the applicable app store, constitutes the entire agreement between You and WhatsGoodApps concerning the Services and supersedes prior or contemporaneous communications concerning the same subject matter.

The App, software, designs, interfaces, graphics, tile artwork, sounds, text, quizzes, questions, answer choices, explanations, coaching content, hints, practice cards, scoring methods, ranking methods, computer-player behavior, algorithms, game logic, databases, compilations, and all other App content and materials are owned by WhatsGoodApps or Our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property and other laws.
American Mahjong practice cards and related practice materials provided by the App are original App content. Unless We expressly state otherwise, the App is not affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by, or endorsed by any Mahjong league, association, tournament operator, card publisher, rules authority, standards organization, or other third party.
You may not reproduce, republish, scrape, extract, download in bulk, distribute, sell, license, sublicense, publicly display, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit any App content except as expressly permitted by Us in writing.
Educational and Entertainment Purposes
The Services are provided for educational, practice, and entertainment purposes only. The App does not guarantee that You will improve Your Mahjong skills, achieve any particular score or ranking, win any game, or perform successfully in live, social, club, tournament, or other competitive play.
You are solely responsible for deciding whether and how to rely on anything presented by the App. The App is not a substitute for reviewing the official or agreed rules applicable to a particular game, club, league, tournament, table, or event.
Ruleset, Scoring, and Gameplay Variations
Mahjong rules, scoring systems, terminology, accepted hands, penalties, procedures, customs, and interpretations may vary among regions, clubs, organizations, tournaments, publications, and individual tables. The App uses its own implementation and interpretation of each supported ruleset.
The App may contain errors, omissions, disputed interpretations, simplified rules, or differences from rules used elsewhere. We may correct or revise scoring, rules, explanations, quiz answers, computer-player behavior, accepted hands, ranking methods, or other gameplay elements at any time. An update may cause results produced before and after the update to differ.
Computer-Controlled Opponents, Difficulty, and Pace
Practice games are played against computer-controlled opponents. Difficulty settings may include Relaxed, Standard, and Expert. These labels are relative settings used within the App and do not represent an official Mahjong rating, certification, or standardized skill level.
Computer-controlled opponents may make predictable, unusual, inconsistent, suboptimal, unrealistic, or incorrect decisions. Their behavior, speed, strength, strategy, and difficulty may change through updates. We do not guarantee that any opponent will perform like a particular human player or at any specific level of skill.
Game-pace settings affect the presentation or timing of simulated gameplay but do not guarantee that a game will last for any particular amount of time.
AI Coach, Hints, and Automated Assistance
The App may provide an automated coach, hints, discard suggestions, strategic observations, answers, explanations, or other assistance. Some or all coaching functions may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, algorithms, or a third-party AI service provider. We may change or replace the technology or provider used to deliver these features.
To provide coaching or assistance, the App may transmit relevant game state, settings, questions, text entered by You, or other necessary information to an AI service provider, as described more fully in Our Privacy Policy.
Coaching content and hints may be incomplete, inaccurate, inconsistent, delayed, unavailable, strategically debatable, or unsuitable for a particular rules interpretation or style of play. The coach does not guarantee the best possible move, a winning result, or improvement in Your play. You remain responsible for evaluating and deciding whether to follow any hint or recommendation.
Coaching and hints may be made available to both free and paid users without an ordinary fixed numerical cap. Any feature described or presented as unlimited remains subject to the practical limits described in this Agreement.
Quizzes and Educational Materials
Quizzes may address rules, scoring, hand recognition, strategy, terminology, gameplay situations, or other Mahjong topics. Questions, answers, explanations, and scoring may contain errors or may reflect one interpretation among multiple accepted interpretations. Quiz performance is for practice purposes and is not an official examination, license, credential, certification, or proof of Mahjong expertise.
We may revise, replace, remove, or correct quiz questions, answers, explanations, results, scores, and related content at any time.
Rankings, Progress, Statistics, and Streaks
The paid tier may provide one overall in-App ranking based on Your performance in practice games against computer-controlled opponents. The ranking may use methods and factors selected by Us, which may include game results, ruleset, opponent difficulty, gameplay performance, and other factors.
Rankings are internal App measurements only. They are not official Mahjong ratings, tournament rankings, professional credentials, certifications, or reliable comparisons to real-world players. Ranking calculations may contain errors or produce unexpected results.
Progress tracking, ranking information, streaks, performance statistics, and similar records may be recalculated, corrected, adjusted, suspended, hidden, or reset when reasonably necessary because of bugs, data corruption, feature changes, ranking-method changes, suspected manipulation, technical limitations, or other operational reasons.
Ranking, progress tracking, and streak features are available only while a paid subscription is active. If a paid subscription expires or is cancelled at the end of its paid period, existing ranking, progress, and streak data may remain stored locally but will be hidden and unavailable through the App while the subscription is inactive. If You later resubscribe on the same device, the data may become visible again only if it remains available and has not been deleted, reset, corrupted, or lost.
Rankings, progress records, scores, streaks, statistics, quiz results, and achievements have no cash value, are not transferable, and are not redeemable for money, property, prizes, or any other benefit outside the App.
Free Tier
The free tier is intended to provide one quiz and one practice game total for the lifetime of the free-tier access. These are one-time total allowances, not daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, per-ruleset, per-device, or per-install allowances. Reinstalling the App, clearing data, changing devices, or otherwise attempting to reset the App does not create a new free entitlement.
A free user may select any available supported ruleset for the one free quiz and any available supported ruleset for the one free practice game. Once the applicable one-time allowance has been used, additional access to that activity requires an active paid subscription unless We expressly provide another promotional or complimentary allowance.
Free-tier eligibility and remaining allowances may be determined through locally available records and other technical information available to the App. We do not guarantee that a free allowance can be recovered or restored after App deletion, device replacement, data loss, or a technical issue.
Paid Tier and Subscriptions
The App may offer a paid tier through monthly and yearly auto-renewable subscription options. While the paid subscription is active, the paid tier provides access to unlimited practice games, unlimited quizzes, ranking, progress tracking, streaks, and any other paid features identified at the time of purchase, subject to this Agreement and the practical limits described below.
Specific prices, subscription periods, introductory offers, included features, renewal terms, and other purchase information are presented through the applicable app store at the time of purchase. Prices and features may vary by region, platform, subscription period, and promotional offer and may change as permitted by applicable law and app-store rules.
Subscriptions are currently offered through Apple in-app purchase. We may add distribution through Google Play in the future. Purchases, renewals, billing, cancellations, and refunds are processed and governed by the terms and policies of the platform through which the subscription was purchased.
A subscription automatically renews for another period of the same duration unless You cancel it through the applicable app-store account settings before renewal, subject to the terms shown at purchase. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
Cancellation ordinarily prevents a future renewal but does not end paid access before the conclusion of the then-current paid subscription period, except where the applicable platform or law provides otherwise. When paid access ends, the App reverts to the then-current free tier, including any remaining free-tier access, if any, and paid-only features become unavailable.
Meaning of “Unlimited” and Practical Limits
For any feature described as “unlimited,” including unlimited practice games, quizzes, or coaching assistance, “unlimited” means that no ordinary fixed numerical cap is applied to reasonable, personal, good-faith use during the period in which the feature is available.
“Unlimited” does not mean infinite, unrestricted, automated, simultaneous, abusive, fraudulent, unlawful, technically impossible, commercially exploited, or commercially unreasonable use. Unlimited access remains subject to reasonable practical, technical, operational, device, network, processing, availability, maintenance, security, fair-use, anti-fraud, anti-automation, and anti-abuse limitations.
We may temporarily delay, throttle, restrict, suspend, or refuse access to a feature where activity is automated, excessive, abnormal, abusive, fraudulent, disruptive, technically impractical, inconsistent with ordinary individual use, used for commercial extraction, or likely to impair the Services or their availability to others. These practical limitations are intended to prevent abuse and maintain reliable operation and are not intended to impose an ordinary fixed cap on legitimate personal use.
No Gambling, Wagering, or Prizes
Mahjong Practice provides simulated games for education, practice, and entertainment only. The App does not accept, process, facilitate, or arrange wagers, bets, stakes, entry fees, gambling transactions, cash prizes, cash-equivalent prizes, or prize-based competitions.
In-App scores, rankings, achievements, streaks, statistics, and progress have no monetary value and may not be bought, sold, transferred, wagered, or redeemed.
User Inputs and Feedback
If the App permits You to enter questions, text, feedback, or other information (“User Inputs”), You represent that You have the right to provide those User Inputs and that they do not violate applicable law or any third-party rights.
You grant WhatsGoodApps and Our service providers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, transmit, process, reproduce, and analyze User Inputs solely as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, support, and improve the Services, subject to Our Privacy Policy.
If You voluntarily provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Services, You grant Us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to You.
Prohibited Uses
You may not:
Use the Services in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
Use bots, scripts, macros, emulators, modified software, automation, or other artificial means to play games, complete quizzes, obtain coaching, generate activity, or interact with the Services;
Cheat, manipulate, falsify, alter, or improperly influence game results, quiz results, scores, rankings, progress, statistics, streaks, subscription status, or free-tier allowances;
Exploit bugs, vulnerabilities, unintended behavior, or technical limitations, or fail to report a material exploit after discovering it;
Attempt to reset, evade, or circumvent the one-time free-tier allowances, subscription requirements, practical limits, access controls, security measures, or other restrictions;
Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decode, or attempt to discover the source code, algorithms, ranking methods, coaching logic, computer-player logic, quiz database, or underlying technology of the Services, except where applicable law expressly permits such activity;
Scrape, harvest, extract, reproduce, copy, republish, or compile quizzes, answers, explanations, practice cards, coaching content, tile artwork, game data, or other App content;
Use the Services or App content to train, test, benchmark, develop, or improve a competing product or service without Our written permission;
Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, transfer, or commercially exploit the App, paid access, App content, or any portion of the Services;
Use the Services to facilitate gambling, wagering, betting, prize-based play, or other unlawful activity;
Introduce malware, harmful code, or other material intended to disrupt or damage the Services or any device, server, system, or network;
Interfere with, overload, disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the Services or systems connected to the Services;
Impersonate another person or misrepresent Your identity, authority, affiliation, or relationship with any person or organization;
Use the Services to harass, threaten, abuse, defraud, or harm any person; or
Attempt, encourage, assist, or enable any other person to do any of the foregoing.
Third-Party Services and Platforms
The Services may rely on third parties, including Apple, future app-distribution platforms, AI service providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, and other technical service providers. Third-party services may be unavailable, interrupted, changed, discontinued, or governed by separate terms and privacy policies.
Your use of the App must comply with applicable third-party terms, including the terms of the platform from which You obtained the App or purchased a subscription. WhatsGoodApps is not responsible for third-party services, systems, content, acts, omissions, availability, security, or policies.
This Agreement is between You and WhatsGoodApps, not Apple. To the extent applicable, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement and may enforce this Agreement against You. WhatsGoodApps, not Apple, is responsible for the App, its maintenance and support, and claims relating to the App, subject to this Agreement and applicable law.
Service Availability, Updates, and Changes
We do not guarantee that the Services or any feature will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every device or operating-system version, or available at all times. Maintenance, technical issues, provider outages, network conditions, updates, device limitations, and events outside Our control may affect availability or performance.
We may update, modify, correct, improve, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Services, including rulesets, computer-player behavior, coaching, quizzes, rankings, progress tracking, streaks, difficulty settings, pace settings, subscription features, and free-tier allowances, subject to applicable law and app-store rules.
Updates may be required for continued use of the App. We do not guarantee support for older versions of the App or operating system.
Suspension and Termination
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate Your access to all or part of the Services if We reasonably believe that You have violated this Agreement, manipulated rankings or entitlements, used automation, engaged in fraud or abuse, created a security or operational risk, infringed Our or another person’s rights, or used the Services unlawfully.
You may stop using the Services at any time. Stopping use or deleting the App does not automatically cancel an active subscription. You must cancel through the platform through which You purchased it.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and accrued rights and obligations.
Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND SYSTEM INTEGRATION.
We do not warrant that the App, computer players, rules, scoring, quizzes, answers, explanations, coaching, hints, rankings, progress calculations, streaks, statistics, or other content will be accurate, complete, current, reliable, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for Your intended purpose.
We do not warrant that the Services will improve Your skill, produce a particular result, or match the rules, scoring, standards, interpretations, or gameplay used by any third party. You assume all risks arising from Your use of the Services.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WhatsGoodApps and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, use, opportunity, data, progress, ranking, statistics, streaks, game history, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to:
Your access to, use of, inability to use, or reliance on the Services;
Any incorrect, incomplete, disputed, outdated, or inconsistent rule, score, quiz answer, explanation, hint, recommendation, game result, computer-player action, ranking, progress calculation, statistic, or other content;
Any failure to achieve a desired learning, improvement, gameplay, ranking, competitive, or entertainment result;
Any difference between the App and rules or practices used by a club, league, organization, tournament, publication, or individual table;
Any interruption, outage, delay, device problem, provider failure, software error, data corruption, or loss or reset of locally stored information;
Any suspension, restriction, recalculation, correction, hiding, or reset of rankings, progress, streaks, scores, statistics, features, or access;
Your use of or interaction with any third-party service or platform; or
Unauthorized access to or alteration of Your device or locally stored data.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF WHATSGOODAPPS AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THIS AGREEMENT WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICES DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions and limitations above apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WhatsGoodApps and its affiliates, shareholders, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and representatives from and against claims, damages, judgments, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or relating to:
Your access to or use or misuse of the Services;
Your User Inputs;
Your violation of this Agreement or applicable law;
Your infringement or violation of any third-party right; or
Your fraud, manipulation, automation, abuse, or unauthorized activity.
Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
ALL LEGAL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT OR THE SERVICES, INCLUDING ANY DISPUTE REGARDING THE INTERPRETATION, VALIDITY, ENFORCEABILITY, OR PERFORMANCE OF THIS AGREEMENT (A “DISPUTE”), WILL BE GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, USA, EXCLUDING NEW YORK’S CONFLICT-OF-LAWS RULES, EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT THAT APPLICABLE LAW REQUIRES OTHERWISE.
The parties will first attempt in good faith to resolve a Dispute informally for thirty (30) days after written notice of the Dispute is provided. If the Dispute is not resolved within that period, it will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules and Mediation Procedures in effect when the arbitration is filed, together with any applicable Consumer Due Process Protocol or supplementary rules.
The parties will mutually select one arbitrator. If they do not agree, the arbitrator will be appointed in accordance with the applicable AAA rules. The arbitration will be conducted in English in New York County, New York, USA, unless the applicable AAA rules, the arbitrator, or applicable law requires or permits a different location, remote proceeding, documents-only proceeding, or other procedure.
Either party may apply to a court of competent jurisdiction for temporary or preliminary injunctive relief necessary to protect its rights pending completion of arbitration. The arbitrator may award any relief available under applicable law that is consistent with the limitations in this Agreement.
The arbitration award will be final and binding and may be entered and enforced in any court of competent jurisdiction. Arbitration fees and costs will be allocated in accordance with the applicable AAA rules and applicable law. Each party will otherwise bear its own attorneys’ and experts’ fees unless the arbitrator or applicable law provides otherwise.
Force Majeure
Neither party will be liable for failure or delay in performance to the extent caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, epidemics, pandemics, government actions, internet or telecommunications failures, power failures, app-store outages, third-party provider failures, or cyberattacks.
Waiver and Severability
If We do not enforce a provision of this Agreement immediately, that does not waive Our right to enforce it later. If any provision is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer this Agreement or any rights under it without Our prior written consent. We may assign this Agreement in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or by operation of law.
Entire Agreement
This Agreement, together with the Privacy Policy and any purchase terms presented through the applicable app store, constitutes the entire agreement between You and WhatsGoodApps concerning the Services and supersedes prior or contemporaneous communications concerning the same subject matter.
